Help us to save Christmas! Santa has gone missing and is lost somewhere in
Bolton, we think the answer to his whereabouts lies somewhere in the Museum. Join us to solve the mystery, save Santa and bring the magic of Christmas back!

Come along to Bolton Central Library and Museum to join in with some family friendly panto style story fun. Nurse Nellie our very own panto Dame will be telling the tale of Cinderella. Will Cinders make it to the ball? Will she find her prince charming? Will Nurse Nellie find her happy ever after? Come along to find out. It is sure to be a fun filled interactive festive treat

Super Christmas Cracker! Saturday 21 December, 11am to 3pm
Visit our fabulous Christmas exhibition to see how Bolton celebrates Christmas.
At 10.30am you can get up close with some of the objects from our collections.
The cast of the Albert Hall’s Pantomime Aladdin will be joining us from 11am to
1pm for some stories and songs.
From 1pm to 3pm you can create some fabulous Christmas cards, decorations and crowns to take home.
We’ll end with some Christmas stories in the Chadwick Room, snuggled up in
blankets as the Christmas lights twinkle.

Christmas with the Bennett Ladies Choir at Smithills Hall
Sunday 15 December, 1pm and 2.15pm
Hear the Rivington based Bennett Ladies Choir sing Christmas carols in the Great Hall. The choir will perform at 1pm and at 2.15pm. Take a look at the exquisite Tudor Christmas decorations around Smithills Hall. Poppins Tea Room will be selling mince pies and mulled wine. Free entry.
Smithills Hall Festive tour, Wednesday 18 December, 1.30pm
It’s a beautiful time of the year at Smithills Hall as it is decked with magnificent Tudor and Victorian Christmas decorations.
Explore Smithills Hall with a guided tour of this fantastic building and discover more about the history of the hall and the traditions of the decorations. Tickets cost £5 adults and £4 concessions.

Christmas craft and quiz

Come along and make Christmas Cards for family and friends. Then take part in a festive quiz around the Hall.

If you’ve not had chance to write to Santa pop along to Westhoughton Library where you can write your letter and post it in the special post box. Come back a week later and find a letter from Santa just for you on the Elf board!
