Saturday Club

Every Saturday in December join us from 1.30pm to 3pm for free fun winter festival themed activities. The drop in sessions will take place at Bolton Central Library. Suitable for under 11s and their families.

Christmas Crafty Crew

Bromley Cross Library, Saturday 2 December, 10.30am to 12pm

This month our Crafty Crew will be making Christmas cards and gift tags, on Saturday 2 and 16 December, 10.30am to 12pm. Come along and design your own cards to send to someone and gift tags to put on gifts you are giving. Parents can join in too!

Christmas Crafts

Smithills Hall, Sunday 3 December, 1.30pm to 3pm

Create your own Victorian style Christmas decorations. This event is a free drop in session and suitable for children aged between 4 and 11.

Christmas Toddler Tales special

Bolton Central Library and Museum, Friday 8 December, 11am to 11.30am

Join us for festive stories, songs and crafts. Dress up if you want!

It's Panto time at Farnworth Library

Farnworth Library, Saturday 9 December, 10am and 2pm

Come along and see the Grand Dame Theatre Company present a fantastic free musical performance of ‘Beauty And The Beast’ at Farnworth Library.

Join Belle and the Beast on their epic journey of love, friendship and discover the true beauty that lies within!

There will be 2 performances at 10am and 2pm.

Suitable for all ages. It’s free and no need to book.

Christmas with the Bennett Ladies Choir at Smithills Hall

Sunday 10 December, 1pm and 2.30pm

Listen to the Rivington based Bennett Ladies Choir sing Christmas songs in the beautiful surroundings of Smithills Hall. The choir will sing at 1pm and at 2.30pm. Free entry. Mince pies and mulled wine will be on sale at Poppins Tea Room.

Arty Babies' Christmnas

Tuesday 19 December, 10.30am to 12pm

Join us for this festive Arty Babies session. We'll be singing songs, playing and meeting a very special Christmas visitor. Grown-ups can make a special Christmas wish bauble to take home and hang on the tree.

This event is free and there is no need to book. Light refreshments will also be served. Suitable for babies aged 0 to 2 and their grown-ups.

Festive Fun

Bolton Central Library and Museum, Wednesday 20 December, 4pm to 5pm

Get into the Christmas spirit at Bolton Central Library with seasonal stories, festive songs and a Christmas craft to make and take home. Suitable for children aged 4 plus and their families.

Christmas card making session

High Street Library, Thursday 21 December, 9am to 7pm drop in session

With coloured card, glitter and sparkles make a Christmas card. Use our special calligraphy pens to write your own special message. Suitable for children aged 4 to 11.

Christmas Fun!

Blackrod Library, Thursday 21 December, 10.30am to 12pm

Come along and make Christmas decorations for your tree and festive cards. Suitable for aged 4 plus.

Children's Christmas Crafts

Horwich Library, Friday 22 December, 10am to 2pm

Come to Horwich Library for some festive fun. There will be lots of craft activities for you choose from and take home whatever you make.

Cinema at the Crescent holiday special – The Polar Express

Bolton Central Library and Museum, Saturday 23 December, 2pm

Christmas is nearly here so come along and see this magical seasonal film.

The film screening will take place in the Lecture Theatre 1. Light refreshments for sale. Free, no need to book. Under 12 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

Christmas basket making session

High Street Library, Saturday 23 December, 2.15pm to 3pm

Listen to a festive story and then make and decorate a colourful Christmas basket which can used to present a gift. Suitable for children aged 4 to 11.

Christmas Eve Sunday Stars special 

Harwood Library, Sunday 24 December, 2pm to 3pm

Join us for Santa stories, craft and fun on Christmas Eve from 2pm to 3pm.

Christmas tree decoration session

High Street Library, Sunday 24 December, 2pm to 3pm

Come along and hear a Christmas story. Then make a Christmas tree scene.  Suitable for children aged 4 to 11.

Competition Thursday

High Street Library, Thursday 28 December, 9am to 7pm drop in session

Enter one or all of our competitions to be in with the chance of winning a prize. There will be word searches, crosswords, poetry and a story competition. Suitable for children aged 4 to 11.

New Year Party Glasses

High Street Library, Saturday 30 December, 2.15pm to 3pm

Hear a seasonal story and then create a pair of rose tinted party glasses to see in the New Year with style. Suitable for children aged 4 to 11.

Super snowman craft 

High Street Library, Tuesday 2 January, 2pm to 3pm

Come along and listen to a story and then create a super snowman from clay. Suitable for children aged 4 to 11.
