Bolton Central Library and Museum

Discover more about the Gods and Goddesses of Myth and Legend. Join us on Monday 15 April as we celebrate the Feast of Bastet, the Egyptian goddess of the home, cats and many other things.

Monday 8 to Thursday 18 April, 10am to 11am - Get hands on with our object handling table in the museum.

Saturday 6 April to Monday 22 April, 1pm to 3pm - Discover more about the Gods and Goddesses of Myth and Legend with a variety of craft activities.

Discover Dragons at the Hall with our dragon eggs trail and dragon craft. Tickets £2 per child please book via Eventbrite.

Create a scene from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, Saturday 6 April, 2.15pm to 3pm, High Street Library

Come along and start our week of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ themed events by making your own paper model of Willy Wonka’s world.

‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ book bingo, Sunday 7 April, 2pm to 3pm, High Street Library

Bring the whole family to play a few games of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ themed book bingo. Small prizes will be available.

Sunday Stars, Sunday 7 April, 2pm to 3pm, Harwood Library

Join us in discovering books and a world of creativity at our monthly Sunday Stars session.

‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ 3D Mike Teavee set, Monday 8 April, 2pm to 3pm, High Street Library

Create your very own 3D Mike Teavee TV set. Use special colouring pencils provided to draw a picture of the ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ character. Then make yourself a pair of 3D glasses to view your creation!

Easter Toddler Tales, Tuesday 9 April, 10.30am, Horwich Library

Join us and listen to a story, sing nursery rhymes and make a chick puppet to take home.

Come along and enter a range of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ themed competitions, from writing stories and poems to word searches, puzzles and drawings. Drop in session and small prizes will be available.

Where will the next story come from, who knows come along and see where they pop up! Then join us for craft activities and follow our mini spring trail.

Games day, Thursday 11 April, 9am to 7pm and bookable session 1.30pm to 2.30pm, High Street Library

Throughout the day you can borrow from our selection of card and board games to play with friends in the library. Or challenge a member of staff to a game of chess. And don’t forget the X box will be on all day.

From 1.30pm to 2.30pm there will be a Willy Wonka themed games. Please pick up your free ticket from High Street Library in advance as places are limited.

Make a family of Bunny! Decorate and fill with paper and ribbon to make a presentation basket for someone this Easter. This is a drop in session.

Enchanted Forest, Thursday 18 April, 1pm to 2pm, Bromley Cross Library

Come along to Bromley Cross Library and visit our enchanted forest.  Come dressed as a fairy or elf and listen to magical stories.

Join in with our enchanted themed crafts including making elf hats and fairy flower headbands.  You can also enter our fairy and elf themed colouring competition and take part in our enchanted forest trail. 

Fancy dress is optional.
