Reading Friends

Reading Friends aims to bring people together to share stories, make new friends and have fun through reading books, magazines and newspapers. Anything that encourages people to chat.

Reading Friends is a Reading Agency programme created with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, Scottish Book Trust, Literature Wales and Verbal in Northern Ireland.

Storytelling Training

Join us for a FREE Storytelling in the Community Course at Bolton Central Library. 

Learn practical storytelling skills with professional storyteller Richard O'Neill and share your experiences of storytelling.

Central Library Reading Friends

Meets on the second Friday of every month from 2 – 3pm.

A new informal group who meet to share stories over a brew and biscuit. An opportunity to listen, chat and relax as the written word is brought to life with readings from novels, poems magazines.

Read something interesting? Bring it along to share.

Topics covered so far include memories of childhood reads, “Surprising” reads and stories for International Women’s Day.
