Bolton Museum’s Aquarium opened in 1941, and remains the same layout and location as it was then. The only differences between now and then is the décor, the staff, and the fish collection. At that time we were only able to collect British fish from local sources, including salmon, pike and trout.
We now have an amazing worldwide fish collection and two members of dedicated staff who are always available to answer questions from visitors and researchers alike.
We also have a fantastic service available for schools. Contact us for more information on school bookings.
