Read full digital copies of your favourite magazines for free from your computer, smartphone or tablet using our eMagazine download service, RB Digital!

Over 140 magazines are currently available covering everything from food to computers, and music to art. Titles include Hello!; BBC Good Food; Amateur Photographer; BBC Top Gear; Horrible Histories and Cosmopolitan. Borrow an unlimited number of magazines to keep forever or delete when you want.


How to register

Go to the Greater Manchester Libraries RB Digital website


Click on Create New Account in the top right.

At the prompt, put in your Bolton Library card number.


Choose Bolton in the Library/Residence list and fill in your details.


Read through the Terms of Service and tick the box.

Click on OK.


Your account will now be active.

Your name will appear at the top right of the screen.


You can search for a magazine by title, browse by genre or click on the page. numbers at the top and bottom right of the screen.


Click on a title you would like to read.

Click on Check Out.


The magazine is now added to your collection.

You can either read it or carry on browsing.

You can also choose to automatically download future issues.


To read now, click on Start Reading.

You can read the magazine by clicking on each page or using the slider at the bottom of the screen.


From this screen you can view the Table of Contents, create Bookmarks and Print pages.

You can also increase page size, using the magnifier.


All the magazines you check out will be stored in your collection.

You can access them by clicking on My Collection on the homescreen.


Once you have checked out a magazine, you can keep it in your collection for as long as you want.


You can change your preferences and account details, access your collection and log out by clicking the Menu icon on the top right.


To access the magazines through an app it must first be checked out while you are online through the website. You cannot checkout new titles though the app alone.
