Bolton Schools Library and Museum Service (BSLMS) is here to provide schools with a service that meets all your library and museum needs.
Bolton Schools Library and Museum Service
Our project loans and class set services have now resumed and details of how to order these are below.
We are also here to help with any other queries relating to libraries and reading, or support we can give your school through the wealth of knowledge and information within the Museum and Historic Halls.
Just contact us either on 01204 338121 or via email SLMS@bolton.gov.uk. We also have a closed Facebook Group just for teachers within Bolton. Please consider joining as we will release news of new initiatives, CPDs and project opportunities on this group first.
Booking School Visits, Workshops and Resources
If you would like to borrow Class Sets or Project Loans from the Schools' Library and Museum Service, or book a School Visit to the Museum or Historic Halls, follow the appropriate instructions below.
Project Loans
Project loans may be requested up to one term in advance and are allocated on a first come first served basis and are loaned on the basis of one per class per full term.
The boxes are delivered at the beginning of every term and are collected at the end. We do not offer a delivery and collection service at half terms but schools are welcome to return projects themselves and swap for another.
If projects are not returned this may affect the number the school can borrow the following term.

Please note that you may request class sets that are not currently on the list and we will consider for purchase.
